the autographs
Hemingway's "Autograph" pieces represent the artist's first forays into three-dimensional installations. He was first inspired to create wall panels when, as a young student, he saw The Lion Hunt of Ashurbanipal in the British Museum. In this series of huge Babylonian reliefs depicting a dramatic hunting adventure, Hemingway saw a means of communicating the epic themes of war and peace, order and dysfunctionality, themes he sought to explore in his own work.
